This is very fiddly, labor-intensive work so I would say it’s a fair price.

I recently got a quote to strip, stain and finish the outside of 6 treads around the carpet, clean scuff and coat outside of stringers(2), stain and finish 3 posts and 30 ft. railing. Also block and base trim atop the staircase. I was quoted 2800.00\. Is that a fair price?
