Been digging through the archives and seeing mostly recommendations for smaller project GCs, anyone have recommendations for larger scale ones, say a $100,000 – $200,000 budget including:

Electric
Plumbing
HVAC
Kitchen
Bath
Floors
Roof

And then general construction stuff? Any leads appreciated!

  2. Bullfrog Builders did the gut renovation of my brownstone a few years ago and they were fantastic. They could definitely handle a renovation of your size as mine was close to 500k when all was said and done. I dealt with the owner Constantine and the communication I had with him and his team was spectacular. One of the main reasons I went with Bullfrog even though they were not the cheapest is that all their workers, including plumbers and electricians are in house, meaning that I did not have to worry about unreliable subcontractors. Give them a call at 718-228-0199 and tell them that Mary sent you. Their website is bullfrogny.com

  3. Hi there, my husband handles most of the general construction as the kitchens, baths and floors. But he knows sub-contractors who do the other trades (electrical, plumbing etc..) usually he’ll have them work directly with the owner but if you preferred he could work with them. 4. We just finished a major renovation to our brownstone in park slope. We used Ryzsard and Sons, a Queens-based father and son team, as the GC. The job included pretty much evrything you mentioned in the post. They were very professional and extremely reasonably priced. They can be reached at: 646 732 1356.

If you have questions about their work, I (Paul) can be reached at 718 864 0799.

  5. We were also happy with Sam at Creative. New AC, elec, plumbing, deck, windows, some interior layout changes, all while working around original detail in a brownstone. On time, on budget, and relatively few headaches as these things go. Happy to provide a more detailed reference if you like – email me at jbusky at gmail. Oh, it turned out beautiful, as well!
