Saying Hello (Living) to Pacific Blue
As we’ve said before, the whole Hello Living complex that’s springing up on Pacific Street is a game-changing step for eastern Prospect Heights. As we’ve said before, the whole Hello Living complex that’s springing up on Pacific Street is a game-changing step for eastern Prospect Heights. When signs of the six-building project first started sprouting up, we didn’t quite know what to make of it. Of course, we were psyched for the heretofore down-on-its-luck block to get an injection of residents (and all that would mean in terms of trickle-down demand for services in the nabe) but it wasn’t immediately clear whether this was the work of a madman or a genius. Perhaps just an optimist. The strategy of putting a building with high-end finishes and amenities in a decidely not high-end location seems to be paying off: Eight out of 15 units at the Madison (925 Pacific) are already in contract; another four are in contract at the Hudson (935 Pacific). (The first buyer in the Madison, by the way, was a young indie rocker of some repute.) About 50 people turned up at first open house last weekend; there’s another one on Sunday from 1 to 3 pm. Have any readers been inside?

Note to buyers:
Buy Windex in bulk and get really long handled squeegies.
I wouldn’t want to be living there on Halloween night. You will be cleaning the eggs off for a long time
I agree with Bob. This is an interactive site, not the paper of record. Mr. B should not be viewed in the same way as a journalist — he is looking to provoke discussion within this community. He probably shot from the hip, realized from the comments it was in bad taste, and took it down. It’s not like the house is no longer for sale. Maybe Mr. B will come forth with a post on the subject and clarify for us.
unrelated but it was confirmed on gowanus lounge today that beyonce did indeed buy an apt. at richard meier’s on prospect park at grand army plaza.

Who is the indie rocker of some repute? Dying to know!!
i see your point, but i suppose i just think that he’s a smart guy, if he decided to write and post on the topic, he should be able to back it up without letting some (as we are all aware) oftentimes crazy anonymous posters in the comments section.
of course he can do what he chooses, but you can’t decide to delete a story from the ny times after its printed and i can’t say i don’t think that there are oftentimes articles that i don’t particularly agree with.
12:51, if the comments were what bothered ‘stoner, don’t you think he would have deleted the comments, not the post itself? I think Bob Marvin had it right. He realized he put his foot in his proverbial mouth and fixed it.
My take on the removal anon 12:51 mentioned is simply that Mr. B realized that he had made a mistake and had the grace to rectify it–something we could all learn from.
I can’t believe they are so exposed. It looks alike a break-in waiting to happen.
