Here’s another gem of a new development, a new building coded for a residential two-family home. Here’s another gem of a new development, a new building coded for a residential two-family home. It’s hard to imagine that anyone who’s attended architecture school could be even tangentially involved in something like this. It feels more like one of these places that was constructed based upon whatever building materials happened to be on sale that day at Home Depot. Amazing! GMAP P*Shark DOB
It looks like a random assemblage of components.
Park Sloper, saying this looks like a faux castle wasn’t meant as a compliment!
Oh, puh-LEASE, people! Where’s all the hate when we really need it? This house is absolutely hideous! I think Emily really nailed it.
I thought the same thing as Biff about it looking like a castle…and then kind of hoped they’d do a little moat/drawbridge thing in front but I fear the only reason for the setback is for parking like all the crap new construction in my neighborhood did. It does look a bit nicer than the one closest to me. sorry to rant — this ‘building’ is less than 3 years old and they’ve racked up so many fines as it’s falling apart. I spoke to a contractor who had been asked to come in to repair some of their violations and he said the place was in such bad shape – water damage, poor foundation (tiles popping off the bathroom walls, drywall falling off the walls), the outdoor stairs’ concrete slipping off and the stucco sagging….and more. the owner of course only paid him to do cosmetic work outside as the cost to repair properly was too much for him.
“It looks like a house hiding behind a castle wall.”
haha yeah – i was gonna ask the procedure for getting DOB approval for a moat/draw bridge curb cut.
It looks like a house hiding behind a castle wall.
some people dont WANT central air. it’s very expensive to operate!
*rob*
Wait…are those fedders boxes? Is it really that difficult/costly to install central air/heating in new construction in this city?
This isn’t a bad looking building, although that yellow on the upper recessed level is a mess.
