Development Watch: 168 Havemeyer Street
We’re not sure what to make of the new building at 168 Havemeyer and its South Williamsburg counterpart around the corner on South 3rd Street. The window configuration is unique, to say the least. What do you say? GMAP

The one on the right seems to have been inspired by the architect looking down on his toaster.
“Where is that guy who plastered the notice on the other building about the crappy architecture? Send him to this one.”
You know what’s funny? I bet (actually, I know) a one bedroom in one of these buildings would rent for significantly more than your garden level rental in a beautiful stuy heights brownstone!
Maybe not double – but pretty damn close.

‘Jesus Christ, Architect.’
Looks like a cross formation.
granted floor to ceiling windows are tacky, but those teeny tiny windows are ridiculous. also windows that open outward are just plain stupid.
*rob*
eek!
Odd looking – but as long as they are rentals, and decent inside they will rent. Rental quality on the Southside (argueably the more happening part of the nabe) is typically pretty poor (but not cheap)
FWIW – Havemeyer south of Metropolitan is wonderful. Tree lined, with some nice lookin tenament buildings and a good mix of retail.
OMG!
