Back in February we got a taste of what the first phase of the City Point build-out would look like in the form of a model presented at a Community Board 2 meeting. Now we’ve got the tricked out rendering for you from architecture firm Cook + Fox. The 50,000-square-foot retail structure, to go up on the site of the former Albee Square Mall, has been dubbed One Dekalb; the building has been designed to attain LEED Silver status and, according to Albee Development LLC, is expected to get underway later this spring.

Totally bizarre westcoast dream-beachhouse meets fulton mall. I love it. There’s a wave pool on the roof I hear…
I’d need to see the real thing to render a true opinion. Looks out of contxt somehow. Not bad, just out of context.
Looks very nice. I appreciate that they created the cutout on the corner window to give a view to the Dime Savings Bank. Anything that plays up the siting of the Bank will be good.
looks good but i wish phase one was along flatbush – something has to be done to improve that horrible stretch – it is the gateway into the boro and its horrible
I would like it a whole lot better if they hadn’t bent CB2 to their stupid plan to make the Albee Square Triangle into their own private front yard, adding 20 minutes to the B38’s trip to Court St. because of their idiotic detour down St. Felix.
Union Square indeed.
huge upgrade!
can architechture save this area? that would be a boost both for the nabe and the (lately much maligned) profession.
I love this building.
And keep in mind, Union Square was a dump not that long ago, in the grander scheme of things.
“trying to become Union Square” — not sure what that is supposed to mean but probably being snide. Don’t know why trying to personify Fulton Mall.
agree with @chrishavens. pretty nice looking.
