What has 137 5th Avenue been up to since we last checked in two months ago? Not too much—on the outside at least. There’s still no facade, but all its windows are in. More notably, official-looking signage has gone up on the scaffolding, showing the development will be marketed by Aguayo & Huebener.

Yes. But I will reserve final judgment for when it is actually complete.

  2. “I don’t know. I think it seems rather contextual with the Key Food and massive parking lot across the street.”

    YOUR KIDDING? right??

look at the brownstone apartments connected right next to it, you can honestly say that it looks nice???

I don’t think it does, not at all.

  3. “It looks fairly out of context in this part of Park Slope.”

I don’t know. I think it seems rather contextual with the Key Food and massive parking lot across the street.

  4. This is just so wrong for this area. It really is ugly. What are the builders thinking when they do this. it does not look nice at all.

Now maybe in a different location it would. But not here in brownstone brooklyn.

  5. > It looks fairly out of context in this part of Park Slope.

Yes, heaven forbid somebody should build something modern.

    Like on 4th Avenue.

    One block away.

  6. The building has looked this way for so long I have concluded this IS the finished facade, scaffolding and all. It’s deconstructivist architecture. Pretty cool, actually, and it’s cheery color always brings a smile to my face on the way to Key Food. Love the anti-cornice; take that damn historicists!
