My one quibble is that the Stove being inset in that alcove would make for an awkward and cramped cooking experience. You have to take the pan or pot out and around a wall to pour the contents into a bowl. Also the ability to move pans, do a "wok flip", or any of the other kinetic activities of cooking happens in a constrained space. But if the in-la apartment is really a nice hotel room for visiting grandparents who are going to be eating out or ordering in most meals, it won't matter.
