Join in a celebration of Hatian culture and Vodou this month with the annual Festival Minokan at Brooklyn’s oldest farmhouse. The celebration includes history and artist talks and song and dance workshops.
The festivities at Wyckoff House Museum take place on Saturday, July 23 beginning at 4 p.m. Traditional crafts, food and drink will be available for purchase. The free event will concluded with a performance and presentation by Fanmi Asòtò and a Nago gathering and ceremony around the fire from 6 to 8 p.m.
While the grounds will be open, the historic house remains closed until repairs from damage incurred during Hurricane Ida are completed. For more information on the festival and other upcoming events visit the museum’s event page online.
