Weeksville Heritage Center is taking its public programming online with a virtual workshop aimed at empowering individuals to explore their African diasporic heritage.
Presented in collaboration with Mocada, Archival Alchemy and Brooklyn Connection, the evening event will bring together experts to guide your genealogical research with specific tips for researching within the legacy of slavery. Timothy Prolific Edwaujonte, a genealogist practioner, will share his story of uncovering family history, oral historian Obden Mondésir will share methods for capturing family stories and NYPL librarian Jermaine Dennis will demonstrate how to use free online research resources.
