If you’re interested in composting, gardening, or simply want to get your hands dirty with some friends, join the Sustainable Flatbush Compost Team! We are getting ready to kick off Compost Open Hours at the Flatbush Reformed Church on Saturdays starting this Saturday February 11th, and we are looking for volunteers (no compost experience necessary) to assist with one shift per month, hosting open hours and engaging with neighbors and the community. Stop by Saturdays from 11am – 1pm, at the Flatbush Reformed Church 890 Flatbush Avenue. The compost site is on the East 21st Street side of the property, between Kenmore Terrace and Church Avenue.

Last Weekend at Southpaw
It’s the last weekend for Park Slope music venue Southpaw… the place closes on Presidents Day. Check out the event calender to see the lineup of “Americana Pie,” a Thursday through Sunday run of roots, old-school country, and bluegrass singer songwriters and bands. 8pm Doors, $10 per night.

Brooklyn Flea + SmorgasBrewery
The Flea is indoors at beautiful Skylight One Hanson both Saturday and Sunday. And don’t forget about SmorgasBrewery, a mini-Smorgasburg featuring a rotating cast of five Flea/Smorg food vendors serving inside the Brewery’s Tasting Room on North 11th St. in Williamsburg on Sundays. The Flea runs from 10am to 5pm at Skylight One Hanson and SmorgasBrewery runs only Sunday from noon to 5pm.
