Weekend Events at Brooklyn Museum
This weekend, Brooklyn Museum hosts a pair of events. On Saturday, artist Miguel Luciano and scholars Raquel Z. Rivera and Sujatha Fernandes examine different styles of Caribbean music in a discussion entitled “Exploring Popular Culture in the Caribbean through Music.” On Sunday, Curator Terry Carbone and Paper Conservator Rachel Danzing participate in the talk “The Art and Science of Watercolor Conservation.” Saturday and Sunday, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. $8; $4 seniors and students; free members and children 12 and younger. 200 Eastern Parkway. Children’s Book Fair at Brooklyn Museum
On Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Brooklyn Children’s Museum will host a children’s book fair in the Martha A. and Robert S. Rubin Pavilion on the first floor. Participating artists and illustrators include Peter Brown, Lauren Castillo, Keith Duquette, Emily Jenkins, Lauren Thompson, and Meghan McCarthy.

Smack Mellon Reception
This Saturday, Smack Mellon Multiplex presents an artists reception for Infinitu et Contini: Repeated Histories, Reinvented Resistances, curated by Denise Carvalho. The exhibit explores militarism from various viewpoints and social contexts. It runs through December 30. Saturday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Game Nite at Frank White
Tonight, stop by for an evening of classic games, including Connect Four, Monopoly, Twister, dominoes, and spades. Friday, 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. 936 Atlantic Avenue at St. James. (718) 622-0840.

Estelle Grand Opening
This Saturday, Estelle celebrates its grand opening. The store will carry artisan made goods such as knick knacks and house wares. Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Fort Hamilton Parkway (between E2nd and E3rd Streets).
