  1. There actually isn’t enough information to know whether those two misdemeanors were what was plead to for the rape charge. It is somewhat implied but they may have been something entirely different. IF, he did plead down to two misdemeanors from an original rape charge then there was something seriously wrong with the prosecution of that case or the victim would not come forward. Who knows.

  2. It’s not a leap to say the two misdemeanors were the plea wrt the alleged rape of the 13 year old. How else would he be registered as a sex offender? Violating an order of protection doesn’t place one on the sex offender list.

  3. You’re right Petebklyn…I read it in haste.

It then states that he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors and was sentenced to 60 days….
Now re-reading it one can’t be sure if one of the misdemeanors was the rape charge. Badly written article, read by me, badly.
Sorry all, I read 13-yr old and rape and flipped out.

“Iriarte was arrested in Suffolk County in 2003 and charged with raping a 13-year-old girl, according to court records.

He pleaded guilty in 2004 to two misdemeanors and was sentenced to 60 days in jail and probation, records show.”

  4. Prosecutors must stop making plea deals where the agreed upon or recommendation for time served is so low and judges must stop accepting such low time recommendations. What does that say to the 13 year old victim? This country is backwards.

  5. omg I didn’t even think of that.
so he rapes a 13year old girl and only gets 6 years in prison
but someone caught with 5 dimebags of weed gets thrown in jail for 10 years…

    outrageous

  6. Gee, I was going to comment on the Hamptons thing but now DIBS is forcing me to make a penis joke.

    No.
    Must.
    Resist.

Anyway, my cousin got some sweet deal on a Hamptons home…6BR,pool, tennis court, 2 acres. I didn’t ask the price, but it was under $2M. From what I hear, maybe well under.
