It is not down the block from any projects. It was two houses West of Classon, so it was in Clinton Hill. Rumor is it might have been gang related, we’ll see. Pretty shocking and horrible.
“down the block from some projects”??? isn’t every block in NYC?”
Nope, not really.
‘down the block from some projects”??? isn’t every block in NYC?
10:17 – i echo your sentiment, but i think it good that a forum like this is bringing newfound attention to such a sad occurence. although the motivation for the attention may not be ideal, i think that the outcome could be – a continued curtailment of violence of crime.

The shooting happened in Bed Stuy, right near the Clinton Hill border. That block of Lefferts is notoriously sketchy, and is just down the block from some projects. Yes there are sketchy blocks in a lot of neighborhoods, but I think this is more about the tragedy of young black men killing each other than it is about real estate.
“Fort Greene, Clinton Hill–same thing, 1:23. Houses cost the same in both.”
No, you’re absolutely wrong about prices (slightly wrong) and location (read brown street signs).
I’m with 4:50. As an owner, you would want to have every interest to improve your property value. Yeah, you’d want to see an end to worldwide violence but the fight would start in your own backyard.
“Brooklynlove you’re really annoying. I doubt you’re in a position to accurately describe NY Times crime coverage of 25 years ago.”
reading plus memory plus living here then = position to accurately describe. i’d probably be less annoying if you didn’t take the time to post foolish responses.
“and the comment re silence/tolerance/complacency/??? in the interest of preserving home values is misplaced, and frankly, completely out of touch.”
Huh? It’s the most common thing in the world. Done for ages. Why would Brooklyn be exempt?
