Update on the Walter Foods Expansion

A tipster sent us this photo along with questions about when Williamsburg’s Walter Foods would be expanding into the old Rice spot at 166 Dekalb Avenue in Fort Greene. The restaurant was initially targeting a May opening. A manager tells us there’s no official date set for the opening but that they’re shooting for mid-to-late August. The new spot will feature a different menu from its Williamsburg progenitor but will be “similar in concept” and serve “staples from the original menu.” You can also expect a raw bar. Awesome!
