  1. bklynlove and buttermilk channel- its always nice to read truly inspiring and compassionate posts from the 2 of you. At least, it would be if you ever wrote inspiring and compassionate posts of even mediocre intelligence.

It takes a real lack of ethics and morals to kill an innocent animal for “art.” How brainless do you have to be to be incapable of comprehending that fact? The only reason he apologized was because he was terrified of ruining his career. But why waste my time explaining anything to someone so inept at social discourse he has to call people names to hide the fact he lacks the vocabulary to fashion an real rebuttal.

Acconci is great? Mwah ha ha ha ha ha ha…. Yeah. If you can’t tell the difference between art and garbage. Which, obviously buttermilk channel, you can’t.

  2. “One noted installation/performance piece from this period is Seedbed (January 15-29 1971). In Seedbed Acconci lay hidden underneath a gallery-wide ramp installed at the Sonnabend Gallery, masturbating while vocalizing into a loudspeaker his fantasies about the visitors walking above him on the ramp.”

  3. I can overlook his youthful stupidity. He admits to it. His act was regrettable, deplorable, and he admits as much. Move on.

“Art is about creation and expression”… what a load of bullshit.

ps Vito Acconci is great. Check out his latest at lacma

  4. For the love of god, the guy has apologized profusely and you wouldn’t have a clue that he ever did this in the first place if he hadn’t apologized for it.

unless the dog he killed was one you or a loved one loved dearly, you need to shut the F up and move on to the next fashionable line item you mindless sheep droid.

btw i am a dog loving multiple dog owner.

  5. Tom Otterness is a grade A Number one A**hole. Anyone who kills an animal for “art” is no artist, and is in fact barely human. That playfulness is more likely fullblown psychopathy. There was another “artist” – Vito Acconci I think his name is- who put a cat in a box for a week in an art gallery as “performance” art.

People who call themselves artists and harm animals or other people as supposedly a function of their art are fakes. Art is about creation and expression. I don’t see any contradiction – if you think killing an animal makes you an artist you haven’t even begun to process the meaning of the word. I hope Otterness rots in hell.

  6. She says her dog stays home, does that mean it never goes outside to use the doggie-potty? Nor gets any exercise other than running away from her rug rat for fear of its own safety?

  7. Now I am sort of sad I canceled my sub to the PSP, but it is prob for the best. Of all the things to mock about Brooklyn parenting culture though, this letter seems weak. Especially considering the author is kind of right. Dogs don’t always react well to a pack of screaming tots that want to pet them.

However, I can say from personal experience, taking a tot to the dog lot is a much better experience… as long as you pick the small dog run so that your tot does not come to actual harm.
