i think it’s selfish to “own” property. people don’t own anything anyway, the banks do.

Some people have actually paid off their mortgages, rob.
I believe you own a few video games, some porn magazines and a Hannah Montana hat. Is that selfish too????
“Where’s the OT? Are we in the penalty box after yesterday?”
I’m assuming so! We were very very bad.
People buy for all kinds of reasons. Not the least of which is convention. The article implies that some of these conventions are breaking down leading potential buyers to remain renters. I would argue that these new attitudes have developed, in part, as a result of the lack of affordability in the RE market. Renters ask themselves why they should take on the rigors of ownership in a less than desirable locale? Just so I can say I own something? This questioning occurs even in Brooklyn DIBS.
To my mind, that makes it an ownership issue not one of location.
morning rob, biffs
Where’s the OT? Are we in the penalty box after yesterday?

There is nothing wrong with owning your own home- but its not for everyone. And I say that as a glad, not bitter renter.
total agreeance with you bxgirl!!!! i think it’s selfish to “own” property. people don’t own anything anyway, the banks do. and since you have to pay the government taxes that increase all the time, they got your nuts as well.
home ownership? no thank you! im an Aquarius. we like our freedom

They will wish they owned once they retire and could have been in a home for 20-30 years and have it all paid off.
I wonder if they spent anytime in powderhorn before they brought? Purchasing is a big deal and I wonder if people really grasp that. If you’re not having wild dreams and sleepless nights on your first purchase maybe you’re you’re mot understanding all that comes with owning.
I disagree- that was one couple but the overall take was on people who don’t care to own. It’s not an attack on homeownership.
