oops orts. Trying to check brownstoner in middle of training session where other folks can see my screen.
I hereby apologize for dissing the Chicken Bicycle Guy. Anybody who can bring together hipsters and Hasidim, even a tiny bit…and more important, anyone who would make a Star of David out of rubber chickens…has my respect. He sounds like a genuine character, even with an ironic fedora.
Ahem, TV and print news everywhere claiming recession is over, home prices are up — BUT NO LINKS ON BROWNSTONER??????? HELLO. HELLO.
tomatoes – love. Unfortunately I have the proverbial sere and withered thumb, not green. tried to grow cherry tomatoes on my window sill. At the end of the summer I had harvested @ 6 total. Ah well- still better than a few years ago where my plants just took one look at the sky and instantly mummified.
Pete – Orbs? Orts?
Rob – That may be the most healthful thing you do!
are you F’ing kidding me? i eat tomatoes almost everyday on my dinner sandiwch 🙁
*rob*
Arklady – customers eating food in backyard are bound to be leaving orbs and crumbs and such of food on ground that attract rats. They then nest close to their reliable food source. (easy to dig in backyards). I am sure there is no restaurant on Smith st that has backyard garden that does not have rats sitting around waiting for your dinner.
mshook, my tomatoes have been coming on like gangbusters as well. 20 plants, 10 varieties, and all but one produced a lot of fruit. My sungold is about nine feet high. I was having nightmares about late blight, but it looks like we dodged it, at least on my block.
Right Arkady…if there’s nothing there for them they tend not to hang around. Kinda like PLUSAs without any beer.
