A reader sent in a note to say that a large sign has gone up on the old La Bagel Delight space on the corner of 7th Avenue and 5th Street advertising a place that will sell fancy chicken and bread, opining that it “sounds like something Park Slope actually needs. Very nice to see that large storefront not taken over by a bank or real estate agency.” Agree? GMAP

  1. Gemini,

Bagel Hole’s bagels are REAL New York City bagels. Some people have become used to the bagels the size of a human head, but the bagels at BH are smaller (as they should be) they have a crunch when you bite into them, but are very moist and airy inside.

I think it’s everything a bagel should be. I love H&H bagels a lot too, but I think Bagel Hole is better.

Everyone has different taste when it comes to bagels I guess, but to me Bagel Hole is most like what people think of when they say they want a good NYC style bagel.

Don’t know what they were like 6 years ago, but this past week they were terrific. 🙂

  2. wow – ok I tried Bagel Hole about 6 years ago and was like “What’s the big deal”?

should I go again? and again why do you guys think they are sooo good?

  3. > none are nearly as good as bagel hole.

I keep hearing that, but the name is is such a turn-off.

Bergen Bagels on “the other side of Flatbush” is my current fave.

  4. Totally sold.

    Especially the artisan bread part.

The “much, much more” part is rather intriguing as well.

Definitely down with some slow roasted, organic chicken as well.

  5. YIPPEEE!
I still miss that chain -“Boston Chicken” which then morphed into Boston Market which I think only has 1 storefront in the city
If this is like high-brow version of Boston Chicken – I am sold!
