Streetlevel: Lincoln Road Nail Salon Shuts Down

The nail salon on Lincoln Road in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, where manis and pedis could be had for a mere $15 (the trick is to ask for three coats), closed down two weeks ago. A note was attached to the door announcing the closure “because of a change in lease” and thanking customers for years of support. The buzz at neighborhood wi-fi cafe K-Dog & Dunebuggy is that a restaurant might go in its place. There’s been a number of changes at this strip of stores. K-dogs just started serving alcohol and extended its evening hours. Papa & Sons started serving smoothies and fresh made food, and now stays open 24 hours. And then of course there’s that huge glass tower going up next door, which we reported could serve as expansion space for the Maple Street School if built as planned. Tons of nail salons are nearby on Flatbush Avenue, but without an appointment they all have 40 minute waits on a weekend. But no use crying over spilled rubbing alcohol. What would you like to see move in?

I don’t know why biff’s ‘bubby’ is going to be ok with oysters when she can’t except the gastronomic wonder that is swine. I do know that I find his public flirting creepy.
Picture looks pretty ghetto to me. Just because there are no black people in the photo doesn’t mean it isn’t a ghetto. And as we all know, just across the street and around the corner…
Enduro is a great place, but I agree with Dutch, the food is average. Maybe it’s just what I ordered. In any event, the ambiance is great and there is certainly a need for more options like it.
It’s an Up and Coming Neighborhood according to this blog. lol http://realflatbush.blogspot.com/
Another vote for Thai,or Indian.
Italian or French would also be nice.
I waited 30+ years for a place like Enduro (and I agree with Sarah that it’s quite good) but the more the better–it’s about time!
I went to the salon once, but questioned the sanitary conditions, I have to say.
I am one of those who would love to see a restaurant row develop here. A good Italian restaurant would be wonderful. A good specialty store with cheeses and breads, etc would also be quite nice.
Enduro is packed every night and indicates there is great potential here.
Sarah, indeed, it’s possible she’s one decent hairstyle and a few stomach crunches away from being a true looker. But back to you. I haven’t been to Enduro, but you make it sound truly scrumptious. The thought of you and awesome oysters in the same place is more than enough to make me trek over from BH. And I actually prefer white sangria since red wine gives me a headache, especially after 3 bottles. But I’ll have to lay off the pulled pork – I can already sense my Bubby rolling over in her condo in Miami Beach.
I agree with Dutch. Enduro’s nice but we really need some choice. Mexican is getting old!
Another retaurant/ bar would be nice. Enduro is a nice spot, but the food is average, let’s keep it real.
