Good news on the Park Slope bar front: The owners of Great Lakes, whose lease ran out recently, have reached an agreement with their landlord to stay in the Fifth Avenue space. According to several sources, the landlord was just testing out the market to see how much interest there was in renting the space (an ad for the location pegged the asking rent at $8,500/month). In any event, the bar’s not going anywhere for awhile. Cheers! GMAP
Actually 3:00 the restaurant is Blue Ribbon, Blue Ribbon Sushi is next to that outside of the picture.
Blue ribbon is not bad at all with some interesting dishes and a totally decent raw bar, but Blue Ribbon Sushi is definately the best in the area.
When the hell is S’Nice opening up? I’m seriously looking forward to that.
3:00…never been inside when there wasn’t a nice crowd of people hanging out, drinkin.
we must go at different times.
the restaurant to the right is blue ribbon sushi…one of the best in the city, in my opinion.
also of note on 5th…
Earth Tonez, a new veggie and vegan cafe, is open at 349 Fifth Avenue, between Fourth and Fifth Streets. The menus leans toward sandwiches and wraps, plus veggie burgers and salads. There’s also a pretty complete vegan dessert selection. With V Spot, and S’Nice opening a block away, Fifth Avenue is becoming quite the little stretch for veg-friendly restaurants.
$8,500 a month? Wow, the place is usually pretty empty except weekends when they get some traffic from people waiting for seats at restaurants. That’s a lot of gin and tonics.
that bar is a dump!
Move to 4th and lose a lot of foot traffic.
they should move to 4th ave and save a tone of money
That restaurant to the right is bad and overpriced.
