The white pilings are steel beams that were attached to new footings in the basement. There is a future build up planned.
I for one am psyched about it. I hate going to the chase on Fulton St., it’s always crowded.
Yeah, two banks right next to each other is a bit over kill, but I belong to chase so I can’t complain.
Oh, another thing…what are those white pilings that come up 6-8 feet or so above the roof along the Vanderbilt side?
They are visible in the photo above.
Hah. Has anyone seen the half-assed job someone did putting up the adhesive blue “Coming Soon” vertical signs in the windows?
The ones I saw on the Vanderbilt side definitely were new signs on a brand-new facade, but the new signs were all bubbled, mangled, warped and torn by whomever put them up, as if they could care less.
Had me totally cracking up.
looks robable
dont for get the brand spankin new dominos pizza right down the block.
Couldve built a two story structure and have country kitchen AND Chase in that location.
Chase makes lousy scrambled eggs.
How close is that to Brooklyn Flea? Now the customers can run over on Saturday and take out more money. At $0.60 a share, won’t they become a penny stock if that holds for 60 days? I have $1.20 left after this recession, I’ll take two shares please.
P-d, as DBL alludes, the Myrtle Avenue BID staff makes things happen in a way that Fulton Street just isn’t organized to do yet. But I would not expect much from Fulton Street until the beginning of the next fiscal year, July 1.
fwiw, I agree with zinka. Absolutely no good reason for constructing a one-story building on such a prominent corner.
