South Brooklyn Pizza Renovates on 1st Street
In February Here’s Park Slope reported that South Brooklyn Pizza, which just opened another spot on 4th Avenue, would also have an outpost at 447 1st Street, off of 7th Avenue. When we checked it out recently, the business’s signature red storefront had already replaced the two stores originally in place. GMAP

Slices at the run of the mill pizza places around are about $3 so I fail to see how $4 is highway robbery, especially when you consider that South Brooklyn Pizza slices are quite filling.
rob, it’s alright that a few really good pizza shops are around. I’m tired of these ghetto ass pizza shop price wars where the slices are dirt cheap and they make up for it by hardly having cheese on them.
What I’m wondering about is the exhaust system. They cook on site, right? Does the stack chase up the back of the building next to it?
Also, why a mullions on one window and not the other?
Is 4$ really that outrageous? Most places in the neighborhood are charging $2.50 for a regular slice and $3.00-$3.50 for any other type of slice.
there pizza is really good, but yeah, $4/slice (yes, for plain slice) is a lot. that said, i suspect that 4th ave location will have no problem getting it- its right by three bars, and they stay open pretty late. i’m sure plenty of drunk patrons won’t think twice about it…
Zinka,
Since they seem to be on an expansion roll, seems they might actually know a little more about their business model than the commenters on brownstoner, don’t ya think?
is that just for a plain slice? i must ghetto as hell if a slice a pizza in nyc is unaffordable for me these days..
*rob*
If they charge $4 a slice here too, they’ll quickly learn to lower their prices or go out of business.
it’s dope pizza, no doubt, but that shit is $4 a slice!
