You can not get decent Italian Ices in any of the yuppified parts of this town. It works out well though since none of the people living in neighborhoods like P Slope , Cobble Hill , Fort Greene , etc could tell the difference anyway. Real deal Italian Ices can be had in Bay Ridge , Sheapshead Bay, Gravesend, and Bensonhurst. Spumoni Gardens in Bensonhurst and Cuccio’s bakery in Gravesend are two of the best by far.
the guy with the yellow hummer owns the one on union street and 5th ave. he doesnt own the one on smith street. the guys on smith street are very nice and are always making the customers laugh.
I have to say, I miss the Uncle Louis G’s on Henry street, because I live around the corner, and now I am relegated to going to the Baskin-Robbins on Court, which is an utter cesspool. It’s like walking into the Twilight Zone: the staff is stoned and there is piss on the floors. Plus they destroyed the lovely Leonardo’s Pizza to put the damn thing up. The only plus is that Leonardo Senior planted grape vines, and they’re still there, in the outdoor area.
I happen to love uncle louie ice/ ice cream I don’t understand what every one is so mad about.
Uncle Louie G’s are to delicious frozen desserts as poop is to brownies. I think you get the idea. I’d rather drink hot tea and gravy on a summer day, than Louie’s.
Why so much hate for Blue Marble? If you can get past the great wall of strollers and toddlers at the door, it’s totally worth the wait (and apparently the expense???)
Cute. Fighting about ice cream…
4:29 – I completely agree about the people who work at Blue Marble. I’ve given them 2 chances and I will never go back. I don’t need anyone to give me ‘tudes whether I pay $6 per scoop or $1.50. It’s called Customer Service!!!
4:44: “Water Ice”? What, are you from Philadelphia?
OMG you have got to be kidding. don’t like it don’t eat it. me. as far as i’m concerned ice cream or ices anywhere are yummy. i’d rather eat ben and jerry’s or hagen daz…and that’s what i choose to do…people pick your battles better because fighting over ice cream is just wrong.
wait, doesn’t the yellow hummer belong to vinny (of vinny’s ironworks?) i live on bergen bet court and smith, and i often see the yellow hummer parked in one of the ironworks garages near smith.
