babeland-sign-0608.jpgAn article in the Daily News talks about how the Park Slope branch of Toys in Babeland will cater to the neighborhood’s demographic, which apparently includes a lot of moms with babies. The Bergen Street sex-toy shop, which is opening tomorrow, will have a changing table in the bathroom, and its owner intends to run workshops for new moms. In addition, the store won’t display erotic toys in its window. The article’s writer found a couple people who said they’re opposed to Babeland opening in the Slope (“I don’t think it’s a good idea. There are so many kids in the neighborhood,” said one), but Babeland’s owner says she’s mostly gotten positive feedback about the biz. And the owner of maternity shop Bump, also on Bergen Street, says her store isn’t necessarily so different from Babeland. “We’re in the maternity business, so we’re in the business of sex, too,” she said. “One leads to the other.”

  1. I also find PS moms to be pretty hot – Looking good, ladies!

1:45, you might want to rephrase your opening line, and even if you do, I’m not sure it’s something to be bragging about.

  2. My wife and I often have sex with our children in the same room, watching. It’s good for children to see their parents expressing love for each other. The way some of you talk, you’d think a child’s head would explode upon the first sight of a nude body! Get over it.

  3. Anyone who would complain about this store opening:

    1. Hasn’t lived in NYC for more than 5 years and has no idea that Times Square used to be the crossroads of the Porn/Sex Industry

    2. Doesn’t realize that they aren’t in Kansas anymore

    3. Hasn’t had sex in 3 decades
