Shake Shack Coming to Beisl Space?

Let’s say a moderately well-known restaurant was known to be closing its doors after half a dozen or so years. And let’s say it had a nice terrace for outdoor dining alongside. And it was very near an entertainment center. A good place for a Shake Shack?
As Grub Street said when the New York Mag food blog reblogged the rumor yesterday, “this reads more like wishful thinking than genuine intel — but, hey, something to think about.” After all, Shake Shake’s owner Danny Meyer has been eyeing locations in Downtown Brooklyn and Fort Greene for the last couple of years. And as Eater reported last week, the Beisl space recently hit the market. Here’s the listing.

Are you people kidding? Burger 67 is terrible. Their veggie burgers in particular are horrendous – they’re amorphous, squishy blobs of flavorless mashed vegetables.
Beisl had some good food but service could be appalling. The hostess was so rude last time we tried to eat there we just left.
Sad about Beisel, terrific food. Tough loca. for resto tho.
Shack has been searching for commissary space in BK also so this is not surprise if it happens.
*need* and *burger* don’t really belong in the same sentence. lots of good burgers around. otoh, good for the nabe as it’d create foot traffic.
In and Out >>>>>>>> Shake Shack
Agree that space needs something a bit spiffier. Sad to see Beisl go but hope something amazing comes in.
Yawn. Maybe it’s because I’m from the land of In and Out Burger and Tommy’s that I find S.S. to be a glorified McD’s. Being crammed asses to elbows is not a ‘casual’ dining experience.
Shake Shack is tasty – but really just a glorified chain restaurant. Another Meyer restaurant would be nice – but he typically doesn’t open anything outside of a 15 block square radius of Union Square.
Burger 67 is better than Shake Shack. Who needs it.
