Last week a reader dropped a line to say that the new location of Carroll Gardens’ South Brooklyn Pizza had started selling pies on 4th Avenue between Bergen and Saint Marks. Yelpers corroborate this info and say slices are going for $4. (The photo above is from last week, so it’s possible the exterior is…

Has anyone in the area sampled it yet?
South Brooklyn Pizza 2 Opening Soon [Brownstoner]
South Brooklyn Pizza for 4th Avenue [Brownstoner] GMAP
Another South Brooklyn Pizza is opening on 7th Avenue and 1st Street right next to the new Bare Burger as well. Probably will do okay from the PS. 321 crowd and the Park Slope Flea Market folks.
chuck, you’re right. But it’s still obscene. You know what’s really good pizza is that place next to the Court Street movie theater… and there’s a fairly new (a year?) sliver of a place on Vanderbilt. yes, still not near you. Sorry.
Here’s why suckers (like me) will pay $28 for a pie: there is no good pizza within walking or delivery distance of this spot.
I’ll repeat that.
There is no good pizza nearby. There is no good pizza nearby. There is no good pizza nearby, and I foresee myself ordering this tonight to try it out.
Because there is no good pizza nearby.
I hope this place gets closed by the Dept of Health. The more I think about it… $28 pies and $4 slices. That’s a big ol’ F U.
I remember hearing that this place was going up and got excited that a new pizza place was coming to the neighborhood. After I went in the place, they had obviously just opened, but after I went back 2 weeks later, little had changed. Still no drinks, to go boxes, nothin. Just the $4 slice and the guy who works there just yapping away with my slice in his hand. The slice is good, but nowhere close to $4. Honestly I think these guys saw that 4th ave was changing, figured they could make a buck, and rushed to sell some overpriced pizza.
> $28 for a large plain pie.
They can bite me, cuz I sure as shoot won’t be biting their pizza.

I remember being astonished when a slice went from a dime to a quarter.

yeah i saw cher got super excited and opened this thread only to see it’s a thread about 5 dollar slices of pizza. ugh. so i guess now ever other pizza place in a 3 mile vacinity of this place will now jack up their slices a dollar more.
*rob*
I’d rather eat next door at Cher’s place.
