A reader sent in this photo of the Rocawear Mobile Shop which finally popped up at the corner of Flatbush and 5th Avenues this weekend. (Check out the interior of the store here.) Although Atlantic Yards Report admits it’s a “nifty retail concept,” the blog also notes that “it would take a lot of temporary installments–shops, flea market, playground–to bring life to the empty lots created by demolitions in the Atlantic Yards footprint.” Indeed.

  1. Gotta say, that is a really smart, market savvy way to do business today. Spend the same money you would on a smallish bricks and mortar store for the trailer, and take it on the road. Jay-Z is one smart businessman.

I have to chuckle at the thought of Lechacal in Rocawear, too. Represent!

  2. OK, well I just googled it (too lazy earlier, I know, I know) and now see the humor in the thread. I’m actually on my way to Atlantic Center soon with Mrs Jackal and a couple of the little jackals to pick up baby provisions. Who dares me to go to the rocawear “store” with the entire family and browse for like an hour and a half? The Mrs and I can buy full head-to-toe outfits and maybe even find stuff for the kids.
