Chocolate Distillery For Red Hook [Brownstoner] GMAP
I have seen the inside of the distillery room.
It’s a machine lovers paradise: a huge copper/stainless steel still designed by the dude who runs the place, built for him in Germany. Other monster machines – old ones and new custom ones with built-to-spec Pyrex components.
It’s sort of awesome. I can’t wait for the big opening.
Botanica (the bar on the corner of Conover and Coffey streets) is currently carrying Cacao Prieto’s chocolates!
Cacao Prieto (the chocolate factory next door to us) is open for visitors so if you are in the area, stop by to see the first stages of the chocolate making process.
Stay tuned for more news. You can follow Botanica on Twitter @Botanica_bar.
Thanks!!!
Just heard (a hour ago) there is a Cambodian sandwich/snacky thing that might happen.
I’m crossing fingers.
ASIAN SNACKY PLACE!!!!
My understanding is that the O’Barrone space is rented to one of the old 360 Chefs, who plans to do a farm to table style supper club there. But maybe plans fell through.
This is great.
However nobody has brought an “Asian Snacky Place” to the nabe yet.
Today, two local dudes were cleaning out the old O’Barone place.
They’re looking to rent it. It’s set up with a kitchen and walk-in fridge.
Some Asian Snacky Restaurateur needs to rent it. PLEASE.
Right now I have to walk up to Carroll Gardens of take the bus to the Slope for Asian Snacky goodness.
Great looking building! Hope they do well.
