Sunset Park Tops Brooklyn's List of Poopiest Nabes
Brooklyn came in second last year in the number of pooper-scooper violations; the County of Kings racked up 224 citations after Da Bronx’s 354, reports The New York Post. The places you most have to watch your step? Sunset Park, Windsor Terrace (which The Post calls Park Slope) and, rather appropriately, Brownsville. Look out below.

If the statistic cam out now can you imagine what is going to happen during the warmer months? We are going to be fillid with tranny turds and dog poo up to our necks. i am sure the mayor is going to come up with a plan to make money off of this for our wonderful city.
in the winter the poop are like ice pellets. ive found it easier and less as bad to step in cuz it’s crunchy in the winter to step on than in the summer when it’s well, a big steamin’ pile. you might be right tho. i was an a-hole back in the day living in new brunswick nj when i had a dog and i let my dog poop in basically an empty lot. this old lady came out and screamed “pick up after your dog a–hole!” i called her something nasty and left. ugh. i would never do that again. honestly i didnt think it was a law or that it was part of life with a dog. i just thought dogs poop whereever as long as it wasnt on the sidewalk it was fine. living in nyc for the last 8 year has proven otherwise. PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOGS SKANKS!

I find that people clean up after their dogs a lot less in the winter than in the summer. I guess they can’t be bothered because it’s too much trouble to take off their gloves to deal with the bag, or that they don’t want to pick up snow along with the poop, or they’re just cold and want to go back in, but my neighborhood in Boerum Hill is much less poop infested in the warmer months.
goldie didn’t mention actually stepping in it tho hahaha hmm

rob, had a similar embarrassing situation once. was out with a group, smelled sh.t, and i raised a raucus asking everyone in the group to check themselves, trying to find the offender and embarrass them…turns out it was me.
i once went an entire day at work with crusty poop on my sneaker. and i kept getting a strange whiff. people must have smelled me. i cant believe no one at work even told me i smelled! at the end of the day i was like um did you smell my shoe? and someone was like yeah :-/ if someone smells like poop, tell them.

Its not legal – but if you’re a dog owner who is going to be an ass and not pick up anyway, at least move the dog to the gutter so we don’t all have to step on it, have your kids fall in it etc etc. and generally end up hating you for it.
But is it legal to let gutter poop stay? Won’t you get a ticket for not picking up?
fsrq, thanks for the clarification. i couldnt remember if it was here or in l.a. (santa monica) that there was an action a while back where they painted a stencil of a fish or something next to all gutters with the reminder that what you dump there goes directly to the sea. guess it was l.a.
