Sunset Park Tops Brooklyn's List of Poopiest Nabes
Brooklyn came in second last year in the number of pooper-scooper violations; the County of Kings racked up 224 citations after Da Bronx’s 354, reports The New York Post. The places you most have to watch your step? Sunset Park, Windsor Terrace (which The Post calls Park Slope) and, rather appropriately, Brownsville. Look out below.

Gutter water in NYC does NOT flow directly into the ocean/bay/harbor/river. It is treated just like the water you flush…which is actually a problem….it is for this reason that when we get a large rain the city is forced to release UNTREATED sewage into our water system because the treatment plants can not handle the runoff that comes from the gutters.
The only reason why it would be bad to let your dog poo into the gutter is because if it doesnt rain for awhile it will smell – especially in the summer.
BOYCOTT THE NY POST
And Rob – you realize that some of us gay men have kids. I am currently trying to train my six year old to pick up after our dog. I figure he is much closer to the ground than I am.
You want to see dog crap on sidewalks – go to Buenos Aires. Disgusting…
> “you’d be banished from WeHo.”
And thank your lucky stars for that.
Folks are pretty good about this in Crown Heights, and there are a LOT of dog owners on the area (including me). I always pick it up – it’s just something you just have to do. When I has a dog as a kid growing up in ENY tho, we NEVER picked it up! That was bad. But our neighborhood had tons of open lots and dirt roads back then. It was really the outskirts and kind of still is.
rob, my guess as to why its considered bad to let your dog drop a deuce in the gutter is b/c that flows directly out to sea w/o processing, whereas your toilet flows to a treatment plant.
i’m shocked at you. when i lived in l.a., the boys of west hollywood were the cleanest, and most diligent at cleaning after their pooches. you’d be banished from WeHo.
Hahaha rob – gross! Well i guess the tranny hookers aren’t getting enough fiber!
that aint dog crap, that’s tranny hooker turds. (im serious)
*r*
I was wandering around the Far West Village yesterday and there was a TON of dog crap. I totally agree with Goldie.
