Fuck that – state farmed medical marijuana in Cali is something like $200 an ounce. Street value in NYC is $600 an ounce.
snagging a state job with a giant pension is one of those lucky things some people will get and some people won’t.
For many, many years, decades even, state jobs were readily available to any and all who wanted them
So I got a letter from US Department of Commerce yesterday to participate in the 2010 Census. It said that I should fill it out when I got the package because then it will help our community get a fair share of funds for highways, schools, etc.
What do you guys think about this? Should I fill it out once I get it? any downfalls to this? I never got anything like this before.
rob, that’s warped. They got that rich pension thru backroom deals all the while having a job for life.

Who needs college when you can get a state job and make out like that?
And people complain about the bankers? That is a stunning amount of money. To reach that most of would need to have $3 million in our 401K at retirement.

My best friend from grade school and high school built his financial planning business over 3 decades of long hard work. both he and i will retire on what we’ve built in our 401ks and other retirement funds.
Another good friend of ours went to work for the state and is probably already retired after having years of 8 week vacations.
My friend and I often wonder weather we should have gone that route or would we have committed suicide after 10-15 years in some state mind numbing job??????????
snagging a state job with a giant pension is one of those lucky things some people will get and some people won’t. hating on them is just as bad as hating on people born into rich families. granted it does suck cuz it’s eating up all our taxes grrrr. but most of those employees who are state funded can never do something like smoke a blunt now and then, so in the end perhaps they deserve those pensions.
