“In 2002, the state legislature further extended benefits to many nonsafety classifications, such as milk and billboard inspectors. More than 15,000 public employees have retired with annual pensions greater than $100,000.”

I’d be willing to bet those are all politicians and politically connected “executive” positions. You should look at the facts before trying to make people think that any run-of-the-mill state worker gets anywhere near that amount.

And it IS obscene for these corrupt state legislators and board members to get that much considering the cushy consulting jobs that have lined up a result of their graft activity while in office.

  2. a friend of my brother works for NYC gov and I recall he was carrying over 2 YEARS of vacation days and this was at least 4-5 years ago. I was warning him to use some of them cause one never knows what would happen to that if fired, resigned, and/or city in financial trouble.

got to ask him that next time I see him.

  3. Kens- fill it out. The census really does determine local monies and a number of other services. We do it every 10 years. So far they haven’t come to arrest me for being a commie leftist pinko liberal, but since Lech has invited myself and cobble to go on a road trip with him, my back up plan- should the Feds come – would be to have him drop me off in the middle of Death Valley 🙂
