    Sigh. Where to begin????

  2. C got itself into too many differetn businesses, most of which are already sold and the rest up for sale now. They announced the sale of the real estate division yesterday…part of the reason the stock is moving.

They will come out a very streamlined and profitable bank, all cleaned up with no other baggage. They just announced this morning that they were hiring 150 private bankers.

Pandit came across very positively last time up on Capital Hill.

There are 480+ million shares short.

  3. 10 hour days being the norm is one reason I don’t want to work again, if I can help it. I’d never see my daughter, we’d get hit with the AMT, and I would still be the one responsible for all of the shopping, laundry and cleaning. The way things are now doesn’t work out that well for most people… and the most annoying thing about it, in my experience, is those ten-hour days have almost nothing to do with ten hours of being productive… it’s a lot of face time.

  4. Rob, try it, maybe you’d get a raise!

For non-managerial staff, it’s not illegal to work more than 8 hours, but it’s supposed to be compensated at 1.5 times regular pay.

There’s this myth out there floating around nowadays that harder work = more money.

If anything now – with companies having layoffs and downsizing it’s best to do your stuff efficiently but don’t let your bosses know you are underworked (expendable)
