” In fact, I could see that smug little knowing smile on people’s faces as they left the movie theater, as if everything they had ever said about what’s wrong with George W. Bush had just been vindicated by a Weinstein Brothers movie.
5. But more than anything else, the single whitest thing about the movie is that is a story about A GUY AND HIS THERAPIST. And we all know therapy is basically the whitest thing that exists. In fact, no one other than white people who live in New York and California actually believe in therapy,…”
You’re still in KC, right? I thought only NY & CA were against Bush. Also, if the audience came out feeling vindicated, it indicates they thought therapy was reasonable response, no?
And, dibs, trolleys can’t run if sneakers interfere w/ transmission lines.
So last night before the movie the Mrs and I went to a new Japanese restaurant / bar around the corner from the movie theater. They actually did a pretty good job with the place; lighting, space, tables, seats, bar would actually fit in just fine in NYC. And they were playing some kind of ambient techo-ish music, also the sort of thing I would expect in NYC. So far so good. The waitstaff is all trim and attractive, another distinguishing factor in KC. So we order martinis and some edamame. The edamame comes out and IT IS DRIPPING WITH BUTTER. And the waitress has absolutely no idea what was wrong with that.
