DIBS, are you serious? That’s the Brooklyn Public House and will be the site of the next big gathering on Thursday, June 18 (although I’m still wondering if they have enough space).
This Thursday is our pseudo-impromptu gathering at Waterfront Ale House on Atlantic.
bxgrl….I hear you on that one. We brought our 19 year old burmese cat to the hospital at Penn and the admitted him and we kept him there for about two weeks at which point I said this is enough. He was clearly depressed, and they had run up an enormous bill with all kinds of tests every day. You do these things for yourself, not for the cat. We learned.
I use Animal Kind on 7th @ 11th & think they’re terrific. For one thing, they’ll answer questions over the phone when you’re not sure you really have to take the pet in. They’re open late. And the vet I see used to be a psychiatric social worker & is great at calming down owners who might be over-reacting (last week her only Rx for a bloody nose my cat had was suggesting I take a Valium…)
rob- the place on 7th is Animal Kind- they’re very nice and very good and very very expensive. They don’t do payment plans, as far as I know. At least they didn’t used to and in the case of one pet I took there, they performed a lot of unnecessary and outrageously expensive tests for an animal they knew wouldn’t live more than a few days. When you’re desperate to save your pet you grasp at straws. My regular vet was very upset with them. But they are open late for emergencies if you ever need and the head vet (whose name I forgot) and several others are really great.
Biff, was that survey sponsored by the fish, olive oil & nut lobby? Eat what you want because by the time you need new eyes, medical science will be able to grow extra ones for you in a vat.
As for tattoos, I will pay the requisite fee if anyone wants “I (heart) chicken”…

You couldn’t begin to guess the size of the bill.
