  1. “M4L, I wasn’t trying to bust your balls before, btw, over the grammar. Didn’t mean to come across as an ass (shut up, BRG)”

What are you eluding to Biff? hat I think you’re an ass everytime you call someone out on their grammer/spelling. I think you should allude correcting people

  2. I’m just an asshat. Ok, maybe an asshat that was raised here in CH, but still an asshat nonetheless! And What isn’t going to like this, but I wasn’t born here. I ’emigrated’ with my parents at the age of 2 from ‘parts North’. Although my Pop was born here.

All this talk about who is and who ain’t a NY’er is really pointless. It’s really all about heart.

Do you love it here? Do you really want it to be good and strong, and to be a part of the character, heart and soul of the place? Then no matter if you have been here for 45 years or 5 years. You are a NY’er. Just like this country, NY was built on immigrants. And the melding of cultures and ideas.

What, I know you have the heart and soul, of this place we know and love, in you. And I love tripping down memory lane with you, you know I do.

But please, please, for g*ds sake TAKE THE MEDS! ; )

  3. I’ve spent almost my entire live in Brooklyn. Came here when I was a baby. I don’t ever want to leave (except when I retire and move to Southern Spain [sigh]) Even if I move to another state, I’ll always consider myself a New Yorker.

  4. Don’t mean to resurrect dead issues here, but i must.

Oh- an about that comment about Copernicus? You do know the difference between “astronomy” and “astrology”? You do understand that Copernicus put the sun at the center of the solar system, as opposed to the idea that the earth was at the center (or riding on turtles?).

    BXgirl-

The Egyptians were heliocentric during different dynasties (their cosmological and religious beliefs changed depending on the ruler)

Archimedes even credited them with heliocentrism, but the idea in general lost favor until copernicus

  5. THL, I don’t think you’re delusional at all. Thinking aloud and hearing some thoughts here is convincing me that home is where the heart is and wherever you consider it to be. It’s the place where you feel you represent and that represents you best.
