That’s right Dave, being gay is no excuse not to go to church and help support a parish! I’m telling you, if we don’t watch it, the boro of churches will become the boro of condos with steeples.
DIBS, my church has several of your kind. They’re perfectly welcome – one used to be the choir director, come to think of it…and snappy, if I haven’t made a church burst into flames yet (or rather, I haven’t myself burst into flames upon entering), I think you’ll be just fine!
Brownstoner, why does my browser minimize itself every time I click on a new thread or to return to the main page? It’s really annoying. Is anyone else experiencing this? I’m using Firefox.
Dave & Snappy – I think you would be surprised. There is a wide range of Churches with different emphases and outlooks. No doubt you are right about some denominations and congregations, but there are plenty that have a different view. I am Episcopalian & know many openly gay clergy.
Just want to point out that not everyone is celebrating Easter this Sunday – for us Orthodox Christians Easter is the 19th and this coming Sunday will be Palm Sunday. We’re supposed to fast completely from meat and dairy products for Lent, a fast I never succeed in completing – although once I successfully abstained from meat. I don’t even try with the dairy.
