Blue Water Grill – Broadway, 16th st (Seafood)
Basta Pasta – 17th st btwn 5&6 (Italian)
Room Service – 10th Ave, 20th st (Thia)
Pipa – 19th st & Broadway (Spanish…but I only had the tapas which were really good)
Cookshop – 10th ave & 21st – Never been, but heard it’s really good.
Thanks wasder, I’ll have a look. Appreciate the suggestion and link.
DeLepp, Sala appears to be just what we were looking for. My colleagues prefer festive places, which runs counter to most finance types, and tapas (with lots of sangria, which I assume they have) is always a great call. We very well might end up there.
I think its a random thing, sam. Seems to happen every once in awhile and I’b starting to think it has someting to do with the browser not the website itself.

benson- welcome back. I was getting very tired of being the resident curmudgeon this week. It’s not like I get paid to do it 🙁
but really- why so angry at brownstoner? As a blogowner he should be asking questions. We’re all here on his dime. He’s created a rare place and opportunity for us -no other website can say it created both an on and offline community. I’m really grateful for it and I think Jon has taken much abuse over the years from us, yet he still lets us romp and play.
Il Bastardo is often featured on MTV’s “The City”. I think one or two of the ‘characters’ bartend there. It might be crazy due to avid reality-tv fans stalking the place trying to catch a glimpse of the ‘celebrities.’

Medium rare to rare. Prime rib must be dripping blood. Rare venison.
thanks Dave. I din’t mean to interrupt the cocktail hour planning posts. Bad timing on my part!
(getting dressed to go meet Biff for lunch)
kidding…but really when he said medium rare steak my mouth started watering.
DeLepp…I have a Jewish friend that runs his own hedge fund. He has a great saying: “Averaging down has killed more Jews than Hitler.”

Since someone brought up the concorde…
The Air france Concorde crash in 2000 killed more Germans than the French did in WWII.
