gemini…I don’t shop in supermarkets. I only buy fresh fruits and vegetables and I get them from farmers markets, meats from a butcher, fish from a fish store, bread from a bakery, etc.
I rarely buy any pre-packaged foods.
I do drop alot of dough on food at Sahadi on Atlantic.
About once a week I trek down there and load up on Olives (that’s my biggest food expense), cheeses, nuts, spices, etc.
Only now saw the quitting-smoking bit, as I just logged in. It’s always possible to quit – my grandma quit cold turkey at age 92 after smoking a pack a day for over 70 years. Then again, she’s lived almost her entire life in Bismarck, ND and is as tough as nails. Still going strong at 94 and doing the yard work…
And this conversation reminds me of an incident with a generally very awkward coworker who said that to get his father to quit, “I gave my dad exploding loads”. Apparently this was something back in the 70s and 80s. The rest of us instantly renamed our informal Guitar Hero band “Exploding Loads” – a clear improvement over the previous name!

There are a couple. Once I try and find that I like them I usually buy them by the case online and get the 15% off case discounts.
