“When we were desperately poor we used to have pancakes and sausage for dinner by candelight”
Cripes, don’t remind me — we had, uhm, shall we say — really bad ‘financial issues’ at a certain point, too, Snappy. Yikes. I think that’s why this recession/depression is ‘pushing my buttons’ so bad. I remember all too well.
I get a craving about once a year for a boiled egg. Outside of that, no way. Although, at the restaurant Miriam on 5th Ave in the Slope, I had their organic scrambled eggs. They were really good. I’ve never liked eggs before that.
ill nonversate with you snappy!!! yes i saw those disney eggs too! it’s nothing but stupid tiny little stamps of disney characters heads on them! laaaaaame. and seriously they made the perfect sunny side egg up in that commercial in the shape of mickey mouse. yeah good luck trying to make that happen real life!
My mom would add food coloring to our pancakes for fun. My brothers and I often went to school with pink, blue or green tongues and lips! When we were desperately poor we used to have pancakes and sausage for dinner by candelight (to save on the electric bill and because we had no ‘dinner’ food.) My mom was a creative gal 🙂

I’m out folks. Have a good evening. Oh, and, anyone having jam or marmalade with dinner or desert? (There, I brought it full circle for ya!)
Smooches 🙂

Were you busy ‘basting your turkey’ or ‘getting your flat fixed?’ 🙂

“Did you all know that last week, on March 19th, the swallows returned to Capistrano.”
NO. I was busy on March 19th. Let me see, what was I doing….hhhhhmmm.
I could do a naughty re-write, but won’t. I’ll spare you all.
But damn, those swallows travel.
Thanks Rob 🙂 I wondered when I looked at the eggs how many kids are willing to eat sunny side up eggs even if they are in the shape of Mickey! Blech!
