Bxgrl, I just posted to the the insideschools blog under my other login there. The post went through without logging in and without my avatar here showing up. As far as I know I registered here once during the testing, picked this avatar, and never logged in again. I registered at insideschools a few weeks before. Maybe you can acquire a different Disqus login for any other blogs that use disqus, even if you don’t use it?
Not as much as you think. When they gut reno-ed the house next door, they did so much pounding that plaster broke loose on our side and the ground floor mantle separated from the wall.
Because what’s done on the inside can affect the outside of the house and the structural integrity of the building. Remember what happened on MacDonough St.? That not only affected the house the work was being done in, but the house next door.
I ‘ll take those odds too. I think the developer is a flipper so I’m suer the oldest, historic house in CH will be tranmogrified into bland, boring,Home Desperate shtbxes for some “lucky” buyers.
Wasn’t much of that left. Some gorgeous moldings on the front parlor ceilings but they were plaster and probably a pile of dust by now. There was a central grand staircase and the skylight opened all the way down to the main floor. I think only one or two mantles are left.
I’ve been researching disqus- it seems that the problem really is disqus, not wordpress which is the blog program. disqus, it seems doesn’t like to play well with others.
I really hate disqus. i won’t comment on other sites if they use it and my avatar comes up. I’m seriously thinking about deleting the account altogether and calling it quits. I didn’t sign up for a disqus account- I signed up for a brownstoner account. It’s like having every site nag you to post through your facebook account or twitter.

Do permits have to be posted during demolition or do they post when real construction begins?

I agree, rob. Actually not so much schizophrenic as like getting caught in a suffocating spider web of social networking.
