Speaking of which- why can’t they stagger the shifts too? You’re right about the 4 o’clock shift change. After my foot surgery, MM had to go postal on a guy who didn’t want to take us to Brooklyn because his shift was changing, and I’m standing there all crutched and bandaged up.
It’s a little rough but changing fast. Not bad at all. Lots of good places on Franklin.Plus you have the shuttle on Franklin- a huge plus. MM and I walk all around there with no problem. Lots of places to eat and shops- not nearly as upscale as Park Slope though- I think you’d like it. A lot of students seem to be moving into the area, and the Jewish Hospital apts. I’ve heard good things about.

I like livery cabs much better. You don’t feel like they want to toss you in the river when you make them drive to an “outer borough.”
