“parsing words benson. blame vs. correlate/associate rising premiums with reform bill.
That is very transparent strategy/ talking points of the right wing.
Doesn’t matter if you don’t opening ‘blame’ — idea is just to associate it in publics mind for political gain — no matter that not connected.”
Pete;
You are actually supporting my prediction in this statement. In politics, BOTH SIDES try to hang the other with the bad statistics out there, REGARDLESS of whether or it is deserved. Hence, my prediction: the escalating cost of health care, plus deteriorating service I see, will come to haunt President Obama in the upcoming election, whether you think it is deserved or not. He made it his signature issue, not his opposition.
shoudn’t (according to all you economic beliefs) health insurance companies be able to raise all they want — and raise it to point that is best for their profit line?
supply and demand and all? So some people don’t buy it then because can’t afford who cares..– if I can make more profit by insuring fewer people with greater rate of return on each policy that is the better way.
I take it that that comment was directed at me. If you think a 10% increase in a senior citizen’s medigap insurance is a piddly detail, then there is nothing to discuss. Ditto for a 33% increase in my daughter’s premium.
Benson, whatever. I’d look to the insurance companies before laying the blame at Obama’s feet. All of your examples are because INSURANCE COMPANIES raised their rates. Obama is not the CEO of any insurance companies. Blaming him may be fun, but is not factual.

Newsflash: politics is a contact sport.
