Wisconsin ruling just makes permanent the preliminary injunction previously issued against the law. Law was enacted in violation of Wisconsin’s open meetings law. If the law was so important to the fisc and functioning of Wisconsin, the legislature could have mooted the suit by enacting it again in accordance with Wisconsin law once the dems were back in their seats. They did not. The unions, meanwhile, had offered to agree to all the fiscal concessions in the bill, so the law offered nothing fiscally above that which could have been achieved through collective bargaining. Also meanwhile, Wisconsin revenues have been coming in above the projections used to justify the bill.
