  1. Slopey!! My hero has feet of clay!!
“So you could be eating produce that is less fresh and **healthy** but doesn’t seem it.”
You wouldn’t eat unhealthy food, would you? Healthful!

  2. Dibs, I am not an organic foods zealot, but here are a few key differences:

    1. No pesticide residues and, for meat/dairy/eggs, no residual antibiotics and growth hormones. You would not experience the difference in taste on any of these; it is just a matter of whether you wish to pay a premium to avoid ingesting these on a regular basis.

    2. Some non-organic produce (tomatoes, for example) are often treated in ways that extend shelf-life and flavor, although do not prevent loss of nutritional value over time. So you could be eating produce that is less fresh and healthy but doesn’t seem it. Not always the case, only sometimes.

Our approach is to focus on staying organic with products that tend to concentrate pesticides/antibiotics/growth hormones the most, particularly milk and strawberries. We also belong to Greenwood CSA is summer/fall which is all organic produce, but we would not buy 100% organic otherwise. CSA provides really fresh and really tasty produce, partly because of the varietals they grow and partly because we get the produce the day is it harvested.

  3. “However, CG, pots & kettles about early launch of raunch; Spiderman went up that spout over an hour ago…”

Yes, yes, my doxy, but only you discerned the spider’s subtlety! Besides, you mean IN the spout, do you not?

    😉

  4. One of Sarah Palin’s ex-staffers just came out with a tell-all book. It’s not flattering. Aside from the usual, he said that her staff members who booked her speaking engagements and appearances had a turnover like summer workers at McDonalds. They only lasted a month or two, because she would back out of commitments on a whim, at the last minute, leaving them to do damage control. Most of them couldn’t stand the excuses and lying to the people who were counting on her to show up. This was for things as important as rallies and tv appearances, or as mundane as a stop at a shopping mall.

I wish she’d just go away.

  5. morning all

my husband and i bought a laptop recently and we really wanted a mac but it was about $200 more than the comparable pc so we didn’t get it. we got a lenovo.

does anyone know if teachers are allowed to physically handle 4-year-olds? where are the rules on that? hoping someone in the OT PC will know

  6. Someone put a Common Dreams essay by Noam Chomsky on my desk; no one will admit to it.

I read a few paragraphs and he says while Bush would arrest terrorists and subject them to the court process, Obama simply kills them.

  7. I’m late to this part because my p.c. crashed (several times) in the last hour. However, CG, pots & kettles about early launch of raunch; Spiderman went up that spout over an hour ago…
