The medicare solution:
Sure keep it in name but increase the free market competition to keep it competitive as Ryan has suggested.
It’s not like that idea is unheard of.
As in Oxford Medicare, HIP Medicare, Humana Medicare which already exist.
Address cost driving factors: hello TORT REFORM!
HELLO INTERSTATE INSURANCE COMPETITION.
The Medicaid solution:
Decrease out of control spending.
Here’s a medical secret many don’t know.
Between ages 18-50. Most people only need intermittent health care. Why is medicaid spending money on healthcare like it’s going out of business.
Answer; because it’s free and there to be used!
NYState spends 55 billion on medicaid, California 38 billion.THEY HAVE TWICE OUR POPULATION. And California is no shrinking violet when it comes to spending.
Scrap ObamaCare, won’t work.
Restructure with an HSA/Health Account model which
rewards good health and realizes that most people in their prime earning years don’t need to use health services all that much. Much better to roll that money privately year after year. Or use it if catastrophe occurs with the major medical component.

now I’m supposed to eat soft foods for 2 days, no strenuous exercise, antibiotics, rinse with warm salt water, motrin, ice pack. I’m miserable.
I sympathize, pete… I’ve spent over two grand in the last month on dental treatments. sure I was stupid to wait so long between checkup’s and most of the work has probably been totally legit. but every visit makes me feel like I’m talking to a used car salesman with a tray full of sharp tools. classic upsell on everything. I refused whitening and a ridiculous offer for invisalign braces. in the middle of getting fillings done last week this guy says “you know, you’ve got two more cavities in here… want me to just take care of them now while you’re here?” wtf–did they appear in the 2 weeks between my checkup and the filling appointment?? I thought he was going to suggest I get my tits done next.
And yes, dibs I did have an inkling. And I think they are full of sh*t as to the reason. We’re long used to corporations coming up with clever, inventive ways to explain themselves.
REALLY???? Audited financial statements aren’t proof enough??? My god girl, pull your head out of the sand.
[Waiting for her to trot out Enron now about financial statements]
Besides, your buddy Obama and Immelt are practically sleeping together.

Hey Pete, I am getting some serious surgery in a couple of weeks. The guy says my face will be extremely swollen for 4-5 days. It’s a big deal. So, I am planning to have everything ready and spend the time at home watching Netflix, reading and sleeping. I just want to get it finished. Probably I will get to be stoned too with pain medication.

Scott @1:25- too right. And I do blame both sides. Seems pols care more about their respective parties than the country as a whole.
