  1. Then what happens when you have a couple of kids? You have to have a wedding like party for them all? What are the banner party years, every year? For every kid? Forget college, forget home ownership, forget spending time with the family, it’s work, work, work to pay for it and to plan it. Ohhhh. I feel tired just thinking about it. what a nightmare.

  2. dona- I had 2 really wonderful cats, Ketchup and Sidney. Sidney was so affectionate that when I took him to the vet, he would get on the table, roll onto his back and purr for the vet. Unfortunately he used to purr so loudly the vet couldn’t check his heartbeat. At least we knew he wasn’t dead 🙂

I once had to leave him for a few days in the Animal Medical Center for an emergency. When I came to take him home the technicians came running out to the waiting room to say goodbye to him. Even the cashier came out to see him off.

  3. First b-day parties are kind of pointless. The kid doesn’t know and doesn’t care about the birthday.

Second b-day parties I do as a small thing – a few friends over and that’s it. My third kid (the one who puked all over me last night) turned 2 a few weeks ago. I’m trying to remember what we did for his birthday. Maybe had some friends over? I vaguely remember doing something. The hell did we do? Maybe that’s why he puked all over me last night, revenge for a subpar second b-day.

I recently heard about a couple that I vaguely know who spent TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS on their kid’s first birthday party.

I guess you don’t know any REALLY RICH people then!!!! 🙂
