  1. Cats are pure comedy. At least the ones I had, they were really entertaining and affectionate too. They had their own wacky personalities. Some of their hobbies were a little annoying hobbies but they were great. I had a few hesitations about replacing my little feline family — the extra work to keep the house clean, traveling for work, and last but certainly not least, their getting old and dying. Man, what a heartbreaker. For both of them. I couldn’t eat for 2 days when Aldo died. I didn’t even think that was possible for me. Ok, I did have one bowl of Starbucks Mocha chip and a glass of wine, but that was it.

  2. Dona I feel strongly that kid birthday parties should be done at home and should be limited to a birthday cake and a couple of friends. My wife thinks big birthday parties with organized activities etc are appropriate. We usually meet somewhere in the middle.

  3. Talking to people here, it seems like the 16th birthday party is a huge thing, especially for girls.

    In the other places I had lived, it was only big in the Hispanic community.

    Growing up, there were no special parties or events until graduation.

  4. We had a decent sized first birthday party for my son at my mom’s house, but it really was just an excuse to get the extended family together.

    We had tiny 2nd and 3rd parties.

  5. “that’s disgusting”

    DH;

    I agree.

    You want to puke even more? I heard that part of that money was spent on renting a small motorized mock car. The parents made the kid enter the hall that they rented via this electric car.
