Caterpillar’s Push for Generic Drugs Tests Union Health Rights
May 6 (Bloomberg) — Companies led by Caterpillar Inc. are trying to shift more health-care costs to workers, spawning confrontations with labor unions and U.S. regulators.
Caterpillar, the world’s largest maker of construction equipment, wants to make workers pay the full retail price if they order brand-name drugs instead of lower-cost generic versions. The company sued the National Labor Relations Board in August after the agency sought to block the change.
dibs, Mrs D is getting tired of working. Her job is very high stress, unlike mine.
Meanwhile while we have a mortgage both here and LG, we have a lot of equity in both. We could take a shitload of money out if we sold. Then we could buy a studio in Manhattan and a much cheaper place somewhere else, lower taxes and lower cost of living and make it our legal domicile. We could either pack it in completely or Mrs D could get a lower level job in the same field. I’m probably unemployable anywhere other than Houston, and I ain’t going there.
We do have other options that would let us keep LG but we’re trying a few things out. No rush.
Some of the subway lines, including the trunk routs of the numbered (IRT) lines are at or very close to full capacity.
Others have plenty of excess capacity, even before the cuts last year.
Many stations have closed entrances and even mezzanines that could be re-opened to reduce platform crowding (people getting in/out of the station quicker = less crowding).
I totally support subway improvements.
It just seems like the Fulton project is an out of control boondoggle.
well, tom’w we take off in our explorations of southern real estate.
Ny>Front Royal VA, then a day on the Skyline Trail.
Charlottsvile VA, then 2 days on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Coupla days in Asheville, then Chapel Hill and Raleigh Durham
Coupla days on the beach in Nags Head VA, then Richmond, then home.
Probably check in once in a while unless the meth-heads steal my laptop.

“Isn’t the MTA supposed to resume working on the 2nd Avenue subway soon?”
2nd Avenyue Subway Phase 1 work is well underway, and has been for a couple of years.
Current plans are for the Q to be extended to a hidden half of 63/5th, then 2nd/72, 2nd/86, and 2nd/96 by 2016.
Later phases are planned to go from Hannover Square downtown to 125th st, but have no funding.
denton, why are you looking down south? what’s wrong with LG???
looks like silver is doing that DEAD CAT BOUNCE.
